George Michael (Mike) Robson, 78, of Tulsa, passed peacefully on September 18, 2019 surrounded by family.
Mike was born July 23, 1941 in Sapulpa to Joe and Roxie Robson. He graduated from Sapulpa High School and later received his Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Mike was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he began a teaching career in Cincinnati, Ohio, and later got a job as a Special Agent with the Central Intelligence Division of the Internal Revenue Service. Mike retired from the IRS and continued working various jobs, including being a robust grandpa.
Mike married his high school sweetheart, Janis Boren, and they lived in Wichita, KS., and Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Robson, mother, Roxie Robson, sister, Joann Hudson, and his ex-wife, Janis Robson. He is survived by his stepchildren, Suzie Capers, Kirk Johnston, and Barry Cochrane.
Mike loved Nascar racing, enjoyed simple pleasures in life, and he typified the saying “strong silent type”. No matter the circumstance he was always there for his family.
Mike will be greatly missed by those that knew him.
