Frances Anderson

Frances Jean Anderson, 76, of Sapulpa passed from this life Monday, December 28, 2020.

Frances was born December 20, 1944 in Mason, OK to Van and Mable Butts.  She was the youngest of six children.  Frances attended Sapulpa Schools and Sapulpa Beauty College.  She worked as a carhop at Carl’s Pigstand and Morton’s Department Store in her younger years.  Frances lived at the YWCA in downtown Sapulpa while courting her future husband.

Frances married the love of her life Tommie Anderson on April 23, 1965.  They made Sapulpa their home.  They raised two children, Debbie and Heath.

Frances was a long-time member of First Christian Church in Sapulpa.  She was baptized at the church when she was a teenager.  She was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. 

Frances was diagnosed with Lupus in her mid-forties putting a stop to her career as a hair stylist.  She kept pushing through her health issues and enjoyed volunteering at her church and was always ready to be a witness for the Lord.  She also volunteered at the Salvation Army and enjoyed the weekly Tuesday gathering at Kiefer Seniors.

In her spare time Frances enjoyed playing bunco, hosting card parties with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Frances was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Tommie, brother Albert Butts, and brother Thomas Butts.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Mitchell (Curtis), son Heath Anderson (Amy Foster), grandchildren Andrew Henriquez, Ashley Henriquez, Neal Mitchell.  Brother Farris Butts (Betty), brother Charlie Butts (Mona), sister Ruby Berg and a host of relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Monday, January 4, 10:30am at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa. Senior Minister Lance Peterson will be officiating.  A reception/lunch with the family will follow at First Christian Church gymnasium, 220 E Lee Ave, Sapulpa.
