Faye Darlene Kerby

Faye Darlene Kerby, 82, of Sapulpa, went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2021, at her home.

Darlene was born July 20, 1939, in Tryon, Oklahoma to Orvel and Zola Jones.  She graduated from Tryon High School as class valedictorian. She also earned an Associate Degree from Draughon School of Business at Tulsa.  While attending high school she was an active member of the basketball team.  She was also Homecoming Queen and named FFA Sweetheart.

Darlene married the love of her life J.W. Kerby on July 11, 1959.  They recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.  She was a member of First Christian Church where she was active in the choir, the Joint Heirs Sunday School Class and as a greeter.

Darlene worked for several companies over the years including Southwestern Bell, ONG, Standard Distributing, and for Dr. Charles Gebetsberger MD.  However, she always knew that her greatest role was that of wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend!  The ministry of her life was loving people, which she achieved to perfection.  She had the most loving, caring, and generous heart!  She is a perfect example of what it means to love unconditionally and to serve the Lord faithfully.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Orvel and Zola Jones; her son Kevin Ray Kerby and her brother Walter Lee Jones.

She is survived by her husband J.W. Kerby of the home; children Mike Kerby and wife Rhea of Sapulpa and Jana Westlake and husband Danny of Jenks; grandchildren Courtney Hambright and husband Dan of Yukon, Chelsea Elbert and husband Mitch of Winter Park, Florida, Shadow Barr and husband Chandler of Broken Arrow and Mariah Kerby of Bixby; great-grandchildren Addison and Nash Hambright and Blake Barr; sister-in-law Arena Jones of Celina, Texas and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
