Emmitt Leroy Humphrey, Jr, US Army retd., 70 of Sapulpa passed away on Wednesday March 10, 2021.
Leroy was born on November 10, 1950 to Emmitt L. and Betty Jo (Carson) Humphrey in Phoenix, AZ. He joined the US Army, serving for over 20 years in the Army Special Forces (Green Beret), 82nd Airborne, and other units. His deployments included bases stateside and Desert Storm. He met and married the love of his life, Maryann A. Kosmecki and she survives. After retiring from the Army, Leroy worked at Goodyear Tire Plant for several years. He was a proud member of the VFW Post 1320 in Sapulpa, serving as Commander in 2006 – 2009 and had served as the State Commander of the VFW 2011 – 2012
Visitation will be held Monday March 15 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Smith Funeral Home and funeral services held on Tuesday March 16 at 11 am, also at Smith Funeral Home.
