Elvia Freeman, 95, of Sapulpa, OK went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Elvia was born February 27, 1923 in Witts Springs, AR to Eugene and Bertha Flanagan. Her employment through the years included nursing and was a small business owner. Elvia met and later married Louis Eugene Craighead on June 23, 1943; they were married for 16 years. She raised 7 children; 3 boys and 4 girls.
She was an active member at the Senior Citizens Center in Mt. Ida, AR before moving to Oklahoma. Elvia enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, piecing quilt tops, and fishing. She was very interested in all the activities in her children’s lives and will be loved and greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Lonnie Dean Craighead.
She is survived by 6 children, 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10:00am at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, OK; officiating the services will be Pastor Luis Torres. Family visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2018 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, OK. Interment will be at Box Cemetery in Vian, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send something that can be planted in her memory.
