Elva Melton

Elva Jane (Hardiman) Melton was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 9, 1942, to Viola Hinkley and John Hardiman. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Viola Hinkley and John Hardiman; her husband, Jerry Melton; her sister, Maxine Taylor; brothers Howard Engelbrecht, Harold Engelbrecht, and Johnnie Hardiman, Jr.; her son, Charles “Chuck” Frederick; and her daughter, Debra Parks. She is survived by her son, Jason Melton, and his wife Brandee of Sapulpa, OK; her daughter, Tammi Earnshaw of Sapulpa, OK; her sister, Joyce Moore and husband David of Wichita, KS; and her brother Junior Engelbrecht. She had nine grandchildren: Jennifer Dale, Ryan Pulliam, Robbie Parks, Josh Parks, Chris Parks, Charles Frederick, Jr., Matthew Frederick, Jesse Melton, and Justin Melton. Elva had many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren whom she loved very much. Elva was a manager of a Distribution company for Southwestern Bell phonebooks. She loved spending time with her family and loved to travel. Elva never knew a stranger and was loved by so many. She loved fishing, attending the Bluegrass festival, crocheting, ceramics, crafting, going to the stock car races, and watch TV. She loved the outdoors and nature and enjoyed birdwatching. Elva loved music and singing (even though she didn’t quite know the words) and she loved Jesus and teaching others about Christ, including her family. She loved attending church and was always blessed to be around her church family and praising God. Elva was so full of life and lived every day to the fullest. She was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed.
