Edith Lynn Rake was born November 30, 1959 George and Ollie rake in Bristow, Oklahoma. She departed this life June 27, 2021 at the age of 61 years, 6 months and 28 days.
Edie grew up in and around the Bristow area. She was a 1978 graduate of Bristow High School and remained an area resident most all her life. She and Luther Nickell shared 25 years together. In 2013 Edie moved to Jay, Oklahoma; there she quickly became a welcomed part of the community. Edie loved her family; though raising her children was not always easy she always made sure needs were met. Edie had a giving nature. She always made an effort to give what she could when she could to help friends and community members in need. Her grandchildren were always a welcomed highlight to her day as she loved them dearly and cherished every moment. She never passed up an opportunity to play BINGO. Time camping was her get away and fishing often filled those days and a yard sale could begin a days adventure.
Edie is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Rake of Bristow; two sons, Landon Rake of Stroud and Lucas Rake of Bristow; two sisters, Patricia Lee and Georgia Bevenue both of Tulsa; two brothers, Damon Rake of South Carolina and John Downing of Turley; ten grandchildren, Carlee Rake, Bailey Williams, Trevor Williams, Mollie Williams, Zoey Rake, Zane Rake, Tyler Grant, Matthew Doty, Bryar Pierce, Colton Pierce and Tristan rake. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild, Dakota Keeton and one niece, Katie Middleton.
