Dovie Rose

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, Dovie A. Rose left this world to be with her Lord and Savior. Dovie experienced a fatal heart attack while at home due to complications after a recent bout of pneumonia exacerbated by her chronic breathing and heart conditions. She passed away several days after being released from ICU at Hillcrest Hospital.
Dovie was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on January 23, 1950 to Oscar F. Pitman and Zeola Mae (Napier) Pitman Lowe. She was raised in Henryetta with her siblings Eunice Pitman (deceased), Richard Oliver (Texas), Edna Denny (Grove, OK), Francis Mulvehill (deceased), Rejoyce Taylor (Texas), Patrick Pitman (Tulsa, OK), Michael Pitman (Tulsa, OK), and Melissa Stokes (Henryetta, OK).
On January 31, 1969 Dovie married the love of her life, Lloyd Neal Rose. Lloyd became a constant companion enjoying with her all the things she loved fishing, camping, genealogy, and enjoying time with family. With Lloyd, Dovie gained a host of new brothers and sisters which she dearly loved. Jack Rose (Okmulgee, OK), Harlus Rose (deceased), Barbara Stewart (deceased), Karen Page (Okmulgee, OK), and Sharon Wegley (Sapulpa, OK).
Dovie graduated from OSU Tech in Okmulgee and began an accounting career as a bookkeeper in the oil industry ending as the corporate controller for one of the top five coal companies in the U.S. She was known as a life-long learner who enjoyed a debate as well as being smart, competitive, and stubborn.
Dovie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd, and their children and grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Joe Martin (Tulsa, OK), and daughter, Kamita (Rose) Scraper (Tulsa, OK). Dovie loved her grandchildren Miles Martin, Tanner (Martin) Lester, Dakota Martin, Chase Scraper, and Caleb Scraper as well as her great-grandchildren, McKenna, Carlee, MacKenzie and Connor. Additionally, she will be missed by her many surviving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins located all over from California, Wisconsin, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
A private memorial of Dovie’s life will be held Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at a family member’s home. Friends and family who do not know the details are invited to please reach out to family members for details.
