Dortha was born February 6th, 1932 In Randolph County, Arkansas near Ravenden Springs to Moody and Mabel Taylor. She graduated from Couch High School at the age of 16.
August 1952, when she was 20, she married Ray Barton of Tulsa Oklahoma. They had 5 children, Don, David, Patricia, James, and Doug.
In October of 1989, she married an old friend, Lane Ishmael. They spent many years travelling and exploring the US by car and fishing.
Dortha retired from Frank Murphy Manufacturing in Tulsa, OK after 29 years.
She was a member of the Lee and Walnut Church of Christ in Sapulpa, OK.
Dortha passed away Monday January 18th at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, OK at the age of 88.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lane, sons – Don, David, and James Barton, daughter Patricia Worthington, and grandson Dylan Duvall.
Dortha is survived by her son Doug and his wife Shirley Barton of Sapulpa, daughters-in-law Beckie Barton of Sapulpa, and Karen Roberts of Glencoe, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and sister Davine Miller of Oregon along with many nieces and nephews.
