Dorothy Fry, known to family and friends as Dot, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2021. Dorothy was born November 11, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Orville and Dorcas Parker.
She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa where she was a member of the orchestra and selected as Band Queen Attendant by her fellow students. She received her Bachelor Of Science Degree from The University Of Tulsa in Early Childhood Education, there she was also a member of and toured with the University of Tulsa Modern Choir. She was involved with the creation of the Parent Child Center in Sapulpa, Ok. and served as the Center Site Director for several years. She later took a position as Child Care Director for The Margaret Hudson Program in Tulsa and then later was employed by PCRC (Parent Child Resource Center} as an Accreditation Specialist. She later took a position with United Community Action Project of Tulsa as a Lead Teacher for their infant and toddler program, a position she loved most. She also taught adult education courses at Tulsa Technology Center for students seeking Child Development Associate credentials. Dorothy’s passion was her babies as she called them and she loved them all. She touched many lives, both children and adults, in positive ways. Dorothy was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Don of 46 years, her son Michael, grandson Braden, two sisters Mary Ann Parker and Nancy Parker, and many relatives and friends. Memorial services have not been set and will be announced by family at a later date.
