Dorotha Lorraine “Granma” Satterfield was born in Brentwood, Arkansas on April 23, 1926. With her 2 girls by her side, she passed peacefully from this world into Jesus’ arms & was reunited with the love of her life on March 6, 2022. Dorotha was the oldest of 5 children, which she was very proud of. She graduated high school as Valedictorian in Mountainburg where she met her future husband, Jake. During WWII, she was a “Rosie the Riveter.” After the war, she married the love of her life, Jake Satterfield, on March 11, 1948. On December 6, 1956, they adopted their one and only daughter, Terri Ann. Dorotha would tell anyone and everyone how happy she was that they adopted such a wonderful & loving daughter. Jake & Dorotha were blessed to have 73 years together. On March 11, 2022, would have been their 74th wedding anniversary. Dorotha was an expert seamstress, homemaker and kept many neighborhood kids. Her love of children was evident by the many children she helped raise throughout the years. She taught her “baby girl” Leslie many things about cooking, gardening, canning and anything else they could come up with. She was very active in the First United Methodist Church of Sapulpa for over 50 years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women. She loved her church family and always greeted everyone with an infectious smile and a twinkle in her eye. She started making baby quilts for church members, from the church, many years ago; that group is still going strong today. She worked many hours helping with the Pumpkin Patch, bereavement dinners for church families, Wednesday night dinners and decorating for Christmas, which was her favorite. She loved music, old Methodist hymns, hearing Jim Gregory play the piano and hearing her girls, Terri & Leslie Ann, sing. She would always let them know when it was about time for them to sing another duet. Dorotha loved having visitors and being a hostess. She never had a cross word to say about anyone, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” She was a true Christian and lived her life as such. In 2009, she got promoted from Granma to Great-Granma. She loved & adored her two great-grandsons, Jake and Keyton. They were the light of her life. She made friends, who became family, wherever she went. She loved “her other girls” at Ranch Terrace. She never wanted to be a bother to anyone for any reason. She was very grateful for the care that her and Jake received from them at Ranch Terrace. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, C. Jake Satterfield in December 2021, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Terri Ann & Dennis Wadley of Sapulpa; granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Leslie Ann & Mike Schmidt of Sapulpa; great-grandsons, Jake Eugene & Keyton Dennis Schmidt of Sapulpa; grandson, Michael and family; one sister & brother-in-law, Muriel & Ronald Stewart of Mountainburg, Arkansas; and sister-in-law & husband, LaVada & Tom Mohan of Porter, OK. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up at First United Methodist Church of Sapulpa
