Delores Newman

Dolores Jean Newman, 74 of Bristow, OK, went home to be with our Lord unexpectedly on October 25, 2019 in Bristow, OK.
Dolores was born on April22, 1945 in Tulsa OK to parents Leroy Overton and Ruby Haynes. She graduated from Pryor High School, Pryor, OK.
Dolores (Dee) loved everyone, she never met a stranger. A lot of people knew her as the (Big Apple). She was a great animal lover, loved to travel and loved to crochet things for her family.
Dolores (Dee) met Jerry later in life (after losing her late husband Zane Garrett). Dee and Jerry were married on July 17, 2011. They shared 8 wonderful years together.
Dolores is survived by her sister Vickie Bonner and two brothers, Mike Lish and Russ Mathis. Six children and eight stepchildren. Her children of the home David Lee and Jenny Louise Newman, Bristow, OK, Denny Hardin and his wife Kathy of Coweta, Chuck Black of Bristow, Shelly Shaw and her husband Terry of Bixby, and Dorman Black and his wife Lori of Collinsville. Dolores was also blessed with 33 Grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
Stepchildren: Ronald D. Newman (deceased), Robin L. Newman, Terine Newman and Alicia Newman. Steve Garrett, Floyd Garrett, Gary Garrett and Lilli Briggs.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband’s Jerry Lee Newman and Berkley Zane Garrett. Her father Leroy Overton and her mother Ruby Haynes. Her brothers Mike Marshal, Charles Lish, and Bill Lish and her sister Marsha Merriman.
Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Church Of The Nazarene, 302 S Elm St, Sapulpa, OK 74066. Interment will follow at the Bristow City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home 1208 South Main in Sapulpa.
