Debra (Debbie) Dean Marcum

Debra (Debbie) Dean Marcum, born January 5, 1955 in Garnett, Kansas to Andy and Janie (Merritt) Marcum. Passed away September 30, 2018 in Glenpool, Oklahoma surrounded by her family. For the past 28 years, Deb has lived with her brother and sister Danny and Brenda Marcum. Deb and Brenda were inseparable. If you saw one, you were sure to see the other. Deb always treated the grandchildren as her own, and called them her grandbabies. She wore out the rocking chair getting each of her babies to sleep! She also had her own names for each of them: Dalla, Branan, Jaason, Eme, and Nolo. Deb was our full time entertainment! She loved to play her guitar and sing Elvis songs, dance with anyone brave enough to get on the dance floor with her, and arm wrestle anyone who didn’t know how strong she really was. Deb wholeheartedly loved everyone she came in contact with. As much as she would irritate you for folding and putting away your dirty laundry or reprogramming your TV remote because she couldn’t watch television without it in her hand, you couldn’t help but love her just the same. From the outside looking in, caring for Deb seems like such a burden to most people. However, we were truly the lucky ones to have been blessed with her. She brightened our days, enriched all of our lives, and brought so much joy to each of us in our own way. Even though Deb will be immensely missed, take comfort knowing she is in Heaven today celebrating with her Mom and dancing with Elvis. We all thought Deb was perfect just the way she was, but now she is truly whole and complete in heaven without earthly defects. I can only imagine walking through those pearly gates and not quite recognizing the crazy lady running my way until she wraps those arms around you – There is no denying that Deb hug!!

And the king shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the lest of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40
