Darlene Mc Guire, age 88, of Jenks, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at her home in Jenks, Oklahoma.
Darlene was born December 27, 1933, in Shamrock, Oklahoma, a daughter of Henry and Myrtle Norton. She married Glenn Albert McGuire on July 7, 1949. They were married 62 years before his passing in September of 2011.
For many years Darlene worked outside of the home at ORU, American Heritage Bank, and Hissom. As a homemaker, she was known by her family as an excellent cook. After she raised her children, her and Glenn became world travelers, even flying overseas taking advantage of those American Airlines miles that Glenn earned from years of being employed there. Road tripping and camping in their RV was one of her favorite things to do. She was an artist and had a talent for painting.
Darlene was preceded in death by her brothers, Remmel, Dean, Lawrence and Sherman, a sister, Doris and a grandson David.
She is survived by her children Glen McGuire and wife Carol of Midland TX, Jan Foster and husband Jeff of Omaha NE. and Russell McGuire of Tulsa, OK. Eight grandchildren, Eighteen great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and one more on the way.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, July 8, 2022 @ 10 AM, with Pastor Greg Ables officiating.
