Curtis Posey

Curtis C. Posey 92, of Sapulpa, OK went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2022, at the Porta Caeli Hospice Home in Tulsa, OK. He was surrounded by family. He was a lifelong resident of Dumas, AR for 80 years before moving to Sapulpa in 2010 due to his wife’s illness. Curtis was born January 9, 1930, on Abner’s Hill near Selma, AR at his home.

He was a farmer all of his life. From an early age farming with his family until retirement at age 75. He loved farming. He loved watching things grow. He farmed Rice, Soybeans and Wheat. Those were his favorites. Before becoming a farmer on his own he cleared farmland with a bulldozer for years and ended up growing soybeans on that same land afterward. He owned the Phillips 66 Station in Dumas, AR during the sixties.

At age 26 he married the love of his life, Miss Annie Louise Harrington. They met at a home party where he played “Spin The Bottle”, which landed on Miss Annie. So, he had to kiss her. It was love from that kiss on. He walked her home from the party, hand in hand. They were married on October 6, 1956. Annie passed from this life May 2013.

Curtis enjoyed hunting of all kinds, fishing, boating and gardening. Working on vehicles from tearing it down to putting it back together complete. But his family he enjoyed the most.
