Cleo “Willene” Wright passed away at her Tulsa residence on October 23rd, 2020. She was born March 16th, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Willene grew up in Sapulpa, Oklahoma where she graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1946. She met, and soon after married, the love of her life Marvin L. Wright and together they shared 65 years of marriage. Willene worked in the home raising her 3 children and was very active in the PTA and the Sapulpa Church of God. As the children left the nest, she went to work for the Creek County Election Board where she served as the secretary for many years. Willene was also very active in the Creek County Democratic Party for over 50 years and served as Chair for many of those years. She was preceded in death by her parents Clow Langston, Gertrude “Gertie” Langston Woodcock and Hamilton “Ted” Woodcock and her beloved husband, Marvin L. Wright. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Wright and Regina Wright, her son Stephen Wright and wife Janet, granddaughters Christina Crutchfield and husband Tim, and Monica Paul and husband Jeff, great grandchildren, Breeana Crutchfield, Bailey Crutchfield, Carson Paul, Isabella Paul and Brynlee Paul. Willene loved to spend time with family and friends. She loved to cook and never missed an opportunity or an occasion to make one of her specialties. She will be missed by all of those that knew and loved her, but her family takes comfort knowing she has been reunited with her beloved Marvin. Visitation will be Tuesday October 27th, 2020 from 1:00-3:00 PM. A graveside burial will immediately follow.
