Carol Jean Moody-Beaumont

Carol Jean Moody-Beaumont, was born on May 23, 1954 in Agra, Oklahoma to the late Hulbert Gray and Patricia Camren Gray. Carol passed from this life on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in Drumright at the age of 68 years. She was raised and educated in Agra, graduating from Agra High School with the class of 1972. She then attended Langston University and Oklahoma State University/Tulsa. 

She was united in marriage to Derrek Beaumont on March 23, 2013 and he survives her of the home. 

Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cushing. She will always be remembered for her passion for Cooking. In the mid 1980’s she along with her mother owned and operated Granny’s Café in Cushing. She was always cooking rather it be for her family, her church, or for the many local fund raising events that she volunteered to help with. Her family always requested her chicken and noodles and /or cinnamon rolls just to name a few. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafting and for many years was involved with the Relay for Life. She was a P.E.O. sister of the CZ Chapter. 

In addition to her husband Derrek, Carol also known as “MEME”, is survived by her children, Billy Jack of Drumright, J.J. Dooley, Jr. and his wife Angela of Cushing, Mandi Alexander of Cushing, Destiney Goins and her husband Allen of Michigan, Patricia Buttram and her husband Tim of Beggs, Jennifer Madera and her husband Luis of New Mexico, Jason Beaumont of New Mexico, Joshua Beaumont of Texas and Nikkie Beaumont of Texas; her siblings, Gail Brown and her husband Carl, Shirley Ward and her husband Steve, Gerald Gray and Johnny Gray; her grandchildren, Kimberly Dooley, Madison Alexander, Logan Dooley, Blaine Buttram and Reagan Buttram; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. 

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by one brother Bobby Gray. 

A celebration of her life will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cushing First Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Martin, pastor, and Reverend Monty McGee, pastor of the Drumright First Baptist Church officiating.
