Carl Henderson, Sr.

Carl W. Henderson Sr. of Sapulpa, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2019 at the age of 83. He was born to Ralph and Vinita Henderson on March 23, 1935.

Carl attended school in Sapulpa and graduated in 1953. He grew up working on the pipeline with his dad and worked at Bartlett-Collins Glass Plant while attending school. After graduating high school, Carl started a 53 year career in oil refineries as an Electrician and Contract Coordinator, working for companies such as Sunoco, Texaco, Sinclair and Holly.

Carl married Virginia Walker of Kellyville in 1962 and had two sons, Carl Jr. and Roger of Sapulpa.

Carl was an active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He served as Sunday School Director, trustee and even filled in leading music when necessary. Carl enjoyed his time after retirement volunteering at the Sapulpa Historical Society. He also enjoyed following each of his grandkids as they participated in school and athletic events. Carl loved restoring classic Mustangs, traveling to car shows around the country and always enjoyed reminiscing about the friendships made over 20 years of showing and judging classic Mustangs.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Vinita, his wife Virginia, his brother Jim Henderson and his daughter Loy. He is survived by his children Carl Jr. and wife Lynn, Roger and wife Shelly, grandchildren Brady Henderson and wife Sarah, Zac Henderson, Blake Henderson, Taylor Henderson, Bennett Henderson, Schellie of Appleton, Wisconsin and Brooke of Fairbanks, Alaska, great grandchildren Ethan, Wyatt. And baby Henderson due in August.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Green Hill Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service is scheduled at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel Sapulpa with burial in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
