Bruce Worley

Bruce was born in Sapulpa on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 1937 and passed away, Monday, June 6, 2022. Bruce was 85 Years 3 months 23 days old. Bruce attended Garfield Elementary school, Sapulpa Junior High, and graduated from Sapulpa High in 1955. He was active it Football, Basketball, and Track. He was also the President of his Class all four years of High School. Bruce after graduating from High School attended College at Northeast Oklahoma State University where he played football. Bruce and Julia Carlene Saner began dating in the seventh grade and continued all through school, after graduating they were married on June 15th, 1956 at the First United Methodist Church in Sapulpa. Bruce and Carlene were married for 65 years and during that time they had four children, Sherry, Douglas, Joni, and Stacie. They lived in Sapulpa until having to move to Muskogee, OK in the summer of 1980. Bruce worked for Bartlett-Collins for 20 years in the mold shop, then going to work at Midland Glass Company, in Henryetta, OK, and then retiring from Owens Illinois-Brockway Glass in Muskogee in 2003. Bruce was also skilled at laying carpet and did so for many years while working fulltime at these jobs. Bruce’s main hobbies were hunting and fishing. He traveled many times to Nebraska and Kansas Pheasant hunting with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his children and grandchildren in sports and in all their other activities. Bruce is preceded in death by his father Leroy Worley and mother Marie Worley, and one daughter Sherry Evans of Sapulpa. He is survived by wife Julia Carlene Worley, his sister Mary Marie Staiger of Sapulpa and sister Emma Roach of Sapulpa, son Doug Worley and wife Nancy of Blackwell, OK, daughter Joni Cantrell and husband Darine of Muskogee, daughter Stacie Cruz and husband Jesse of Centerton, AR, grandchildren, Jenny (Evans) Jarrell of Bristow, Courtney Evans of Tulsa, Brittany Cantrell of Muskogee, Joshua Worley and wife Jennifer of Lynchburg, VA, Andrew Worley and wife Payton of Tecumseh, OK, Nathaniel Worley and wife Tiffany of Yukon, OK, and Austin Cruz of Bentonville, AR. A step-grandson, Doyle Cantrell and his wife Jackie, and a step-granddaughter, Sarah Cruz of Tahlequah, OK. Six great-grandchildren, Taylor Jarrell, Bentley Cantrell, Ellen Worley, Ezra Worley, and Donna Worley; and three step-great-grandchildren, Sasha Cantrell, Mya Cantrell, and Cashus Cantrell.
