Bonnie Joe Perry was born February 7, 1939 to John and Rosie King in Bristow, Oklahoma. She departed this life January 3, 2021 at the age of 81 years 10 months and 27 days.
Bonnie was 1957 graduate of Bristow High School. She wasted no time marrying the love of her life, Roy, on June 29th of the same year. To this union were born two children, Connie Gayle and Roy Junior. They made their home in Bristow and though they traveled from time-to-time, Bristow would forever remain their home. Bonnie, though quiet in stature, was fierce. The love she had for her family was second only to her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She served the Lord faithfully not only in the church but outside the church as well. Never quick to judge but always quick to correct. She was never one to give an opinion. Unless you asked for it and with that you might as well sit down.
Many things, moments, and activities brought joy to Bonnie’s life. Sewing, crocheting and even embroidery. None were more precious than moments with family, particularly her grandchildren. She treasured the small mementos made with love as well as the laughter they had with time spent together.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy, of the Bristow home; one son, Roy Junior and wife Mary of Shamrock, OK; one sister, Jeanette Weaver; two sisters-in- law, Mary Caulkins and Donna Alsup; four grandchildren, Theron Perry and wife Hannah, Miranda Bostick, Eli Perry, and Connie Joe Perry. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Connie Gayle Perry; one sister, Jeannie Walker and two brothers, John L. King and Alfred Lee Arnett Jr.
Funeral services are 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Freewill Baptist Church in Bristow, Oklahoma with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Bristow City Cemetery.
