Betty Shaw

Betty Jo Shaw was born on September 30,1946 in Fort Smith, AR to Jackie Richardson and Juanita “Ruth” Bunting. Betty passed away at the age of 74 on January 8, 2021.

She married the love of her life Richard Shaw in Noel, MO on October 9,1962. They enjoyed 45 beautiful years of marriage before his passing. In those 45 years they enjoyed gardening, spending time at Spring Creek fishing, and enjoying the years they had together.

She cleaned houses and babysat until she retired. Betty enjoyed playing bingo and Skip-Bo, she loved to cook food for her family, and also burn leaves. She loved her Pepsi and Cheetos. She enjoyed watching soda poppers (soap operas), having garage sales, and making her own vocabulary. She loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She was Cottonwood Road’s neighborhood watch.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jackie Richardson and Ruth Bunting, husband Richard Shaw, brother Skippy Richardson and sister Joy Harper.

She is survived by her daughters Tammy Richie and husband Sean of Sapulpa and Rebecca Drury and husband Josh of Sapulpa. Grandchildren Brittany and Baylee Richie of Sapulpa, Joshua and Aubriana Drury of Sapulpa, and Brandi Estep and husband Eric of Porter. Great-Grandson Bentlee Doyle of Sapulpa and great granddaughters Brailynn, Kimberlyn, and Kynzlee Estep of Porter and many other “adopted” grandchildren. Sister Pat Allen of Kiefer, brother-in-law Jerry Harper of Spiro, mother-in-law Elanor Shaw of Sapulpa, brother-in-law Jay Shaw of Sapulpa, sister-in-law Debbie Shaw of Sapulpa, sister-in-law Bobbie Graham of Sapulpa, and sister-in-law Kay Richardson and husband Ivan of Lebanon, MO. Close to her heart were numerous unmentioned aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Billy Gene Matney, Danny Matney, James Matney, Eddie Harper, Eddie Allen, and Steve Harrison.

Honorary bearers will be Sonny Smith, Jim Pritchard, Chad Asher, Eric Estep, Cheyan Littledave, Billy Richardson, Gerald Gregory, Billy Gregory, Shane Shaw, and Curtis Severs,

Viewing is scheduled for Friday January 15,2021 from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services have been set for 1 p.m. Saturday January 16, 2021 in Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Smith Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Crosspointe Church located at 450 E. Speer Ave Sapulpa, OK 74066. Her wish was to update and maintain the pray garden and gazebo. Sapulpa has a mask mandate please wear a mask to wear during visitation and funeral.
