Bertie Irene Carner, 79, was wrapped in the arms of Jesus and promoted to her heavenly home on Monday, March 12, 2018, at her home in Mounds, OK. She was born on May 31, 1938, in Glenco, OK to Charlie and Zelma Boyce. She married Buck Carner on April 4, 1953. They moved to California in 1961where they resided until relocating to Mounds in 2003.

She was a stay at home mom until all the kids were grown. She taught cake decorating classes, and in her later years worked at their church in San Diego and then here at June Rose in Sapulpa.

She enjoyed doing many kinds of crafts: sewing, quilting, machine embroidery, crochet, cake decorating, oil painting, photography, and computers…just to name a few. Her sewing room was the envy of many a woman who loves to sew. Her cookbook, Irene’s Cherished Recipes, is cherished by family and friends alike.

She is survived by her husband, Buck Carner, daughter Judy Manntai and husband Sig, son Kelly and wife Brenda; daughter Kathy Williams and husband Quintin; Grandchildren: Justin Manntai, Eric Manntai, Michael Carner, Kara Archuleta, Jane Roberts, Eriana McGill; Great Grandchildren Andrew Manntai, Kellene Manntai, Kaitlyn Manntai; Sister Sharon Wrigley.

Funeral Services will be 10:00am Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel 1208 South Main in Sapulpa. Interment will follow at the South Heights Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
