Barton C Perkins was born March 21, 1941 to Ernest and Jossie Perkins and went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 2,2020. He was the 5th son of 14 children and loved his siblings dearly. He looked forward to his daily 8:00 am phone calls from his baby sister Loretta Trowbridge, the yearly 4th of July picnics at his brother Elmer Perkins’ house, the Perkins Family Dinner celebrated in December and any extra time he got to spend with his brother Lee Roy Perkins and sister June Moore. He was married to Fonda and they have lived in Sapulpa for over 50 years. In their early years, they were avid bowlers and played slow-pitch softball. They became members of Allen Freewill Baptist Church, where he and Fonda attended services regularly. For the last 14 years, he has devoted his life to taking care of Fonda. They traveled and took trips with family and friends, met with friends for lunch a couple times a week and studied God’s words. He retired from Rockwell Int/Boeing in May of 2001, after 22 years of service. He had worked as an electrician and President of UAW local 952 for 9 years and Chairman of the Bargaining Committee for 3 years. Bart was the proud father of 6 children. Laura Perkins of Gypsy. Donna Zarroli who is married to Paul and lives in Pennsylvania, Tina Smith who resides in Texas and Darla Speck who lives in Sapulpa. He felt one of the most important things that he could do was to support his children emotionally, spiritually and in any other ways he could. His oldest daughter, Laura frustrated him with her free spirited ways, but he was always proud of her and appreciated how she took on the raising of his great grandson Josh when it was needed. He loved the fact that his daughter, Donna worked in the emergency room of a hospital in Pennsylvania. He often said that her heart and intelligence were the perfect combination for that position and that there wasn’t anyone better for that job. She would call him on her way to work every day and he loved and looked forward to those calls dearly. When his daughter Tina became a nurse, he was so proud, he was willing to give her any and all assistance to make her dreams come true. When she was nervous about anything,, he would provide the spiritual strength she needed to get her through. Last was Darla. He helped Darla through so much. He provided her the means to become a school teacher and was so proud of her for that and so many other things. He enjoyed their 6-10 daily phone calls and appreciated her for helping him whenever he needed it. He was her rock when she lost her husband and her nurse when she had her knee replaced. His message to everyone was always the same, May the Good Lord Bless You and Keep You. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Jossie; siblings, Juanita Welch, Frances Perkins, Ernest Perkins Jr, Frank Perkins, Thelma LaFever, Dorothy Meek and Alta Bock; daughter Lisa Grumadas, son Brian Perkins, grandson Josh and son-in-law Jason Speck. He is survived by his wife, Fonda Perkins of the home, sisters June and Loretta, brothers Elmer and Lee Roy. He also leaves behind 4 daughters, Laura, Donna, Tina and Darla. Grandchildren Michelle, Christina, Theresa, John-Paul Barton, Blair, Kymberly, Aaron and Erica. He also leaves behind several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
