Barry Bredensteiner

Barry Deane Bredensteiner left this life on April 27, 2022, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of family, friends and customers.  Barry was amazingly mechanically talented – If he didn’t have the right tool to make a complex repair, he would make the tool. His talents started with making modifications to his 1957 Ford in high school to the maintenance, inspection and repair of corporate jet aircraft.

He earned an Aircraft Inspection degree from Spartan School of Aeronautics. Barry enlisted in the USAF in 1971, attended basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, followed by Aircraft and Engine School at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX. He was stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK servicing T-38 Talons and other military aircraft. Barry was later assigned to the 375th CAM Squadron, Military Airlift Command, at Scott Air Force Base in Bellville, IL. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

Barry began his career with PHI Helicopters in Lafayette, LA. He went on to join Pennant Aviation, as well as various small aircraft repair companies in Tulsa where he was promoted as a manager overseeing a staff of maintenance and repair employees. He later received his pilot’s license for commercial, single-engine and multi-engine aircraft. He started Aircraft Inspection and Repair in 2004 at RL Jones Airport, Jenks, OK. He greatly enjoyed living on Keystone Lake, hanging out on his houseboat and fishing with friends and family.

Barry was predeceased by his parents, Verne and Carmen Bredensteiner of Sapulpa, OK.  He is survived by his two adult children, Heather Cupp (husband Michael Cupp) and Jacob James; their mother, Carol James, brother, Jon Bredensteiner, nephews, Jon “Willy” Bredensteiner, Matt Bredensteiner and Tommy Bredensteiner, grandchildren, Jessika James, Gabrielle McVey, Mercedes Stedman, Jaden Cupp and Corey McVey, along with three great-grandchildren, Harrison Campos, Nate and Jude Stedman.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, OK and services with military honors are scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM in the chapel. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Green Hill Cemetery, also in Sapulpa
