Barbara Sue Nicholes, 69, passed from this world to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021. Barbara was born on June 27, 1952 to Charles and Wanda Pendergrass in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Barbara attended Sapulpa Schools 1st – 12th grades, graduating in 1972. She married David I. Nicholes on May 11, 1973. They had one son, Toby Don, on August 27, 1974 and one daughter, Penny Ann on January 16, 1978. Barbara worked many different jobs through her life. She enjoyed working with children. Barbara worked with young girls in the Missionette program with the Assembly of God Church. She also volunteered with the Tulsa Fire Fighter Clowns Burn Camp as the Craft Lady for 10 years. Barbara retired in 2010 to become a fulltime housewife. Barbara and David were married for 48 years. Barbara was preceded in death by her father Charles Pendergrass; her mother Wanda Pendergrass; and sister Charlene Rowell. She is survived by her husband David of Sand Springs; her son Toby and wife Leslie Nicholes of Sand Springs; daughter Penny Ann Nicholes and her husband Ron Bruce of Tulsa; 3 grandchildren, Destiny Wells and her husband Bryan of Shawnee, Hayley Nicholes and her boyfriend Corbin Sizemore of Norman, Robert Val Nicholes of Sand Springs; two sisters, Edna Asher and Judy Booth of Sapulpa; brother Donnie Booth of Sapulpa; sister-in-law Lou Shaw of Norman’ as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. The family welcomes donations to the Little Lighthouse in Tulsa, OK, in lieu of flowers.
