Barbara Cox passed peacefully with her children by her side at Clarehouse on August 9, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 70.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Kelly Barnett and husband Rick of Sapulpa; son Jason Cox and partner Terry McDevitt of Owasso; niece Debra Kame of Mannford; sister Goldena (Goldie) White and husband Jim of Sapulpa; brother Howard Stockton and wife Alta of Sapulpa; grandsons Alexander Eddingfield and Joshua Barnett of Sapulpa; great-grandchildren Jaxxin and Lilly Rose Eddingfield and many other beloved family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Loyd Cox, parents Homer and Ollie Mae Stockton, and brothers Donald, Melvin and Leslie Stockton.
Barbara was born on March 13, 1948 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Homer and Ollie Mae Stockton. As a child, her family lived throughout California and Oklahoma. On January 20, 1966, she married her one true love, Loyd Cox. Sapulpa was her home for over 40 years where she raised her family. She dedicated her thirty-year career to others as a certified nursing assistant. Barbara was best known for taking care of everyone including an occasional stray animal. She was generous with whatever she had, and she had a sharp wit. Barbara was a caring mother and grandmother who liked to cook, enjoyed bingo, an occasional trip to the casino and playing cards with family and friends.
The viewing will be held Sunday, August 12th from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral is scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, August 13th both at the Green Hill Chapel. Pastor Ronny Hardage will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Clarehouse at www.Clarehouse.org/donate.
