Rep. Mark Lawson today received the endorsement of Jake Rowland, a small business owner from Bixby, who garnered 20.22% of the vote in Tuesday’s primary election.

“Mark is a good man,” said Rowland. “I’m convinced he’ll continue to do what ‘s right for our district, and I encourage my supporters to vote for him in the runoff election on Aug. 28.”

Rowland is the owner of Outdoor Pro Landscaping and Tree Service since 2002.

“I really appreciate Jake’s endorsement,” said Lawson. “There’s no question his hard-working attitude is what resonated with so many voters. I will do my best to earn their trust and look forward to calling on Jake as a close ally.”

A civic leader and community servant who works as the Director of Public Affairs for SeneGence International, Lawson has been a member of the state House of Representatives, District 30, since 2016.

Lawson currently serves as Assistant Majority Whip and vice chairman of the appropriations and budget subcommittee on human services.

Among his many accomplishments during his first term in office, Lawson said he is most proud of passing legislation to audit state agencies and raise teacher pay.

Lawson said he will work to ensure state government is being as efficient and lean as possible without cutting critical programs. He will also continue to fight for constitutional carry.

“It’s been one of the great privileges of my life to serve as a representative of my community for the last couple of years, and I look forward to continuing that work,” Lawson said. “I will campaign hard for every vote in the Republican primary.”

The runoff election is on Aug. 28.
