Sapulpa Police say that a man plowed his SUV through a fence and into a tree on Thursday evening in what they’re describing as a possible “medically-related” situation.
Lt. Derrick Clayton told Sapulpa Times that at about 8:34pm, they received a call that a man in his 60s had crashed his vehicle into a tree. According to Clayton, the man had been driving southbound on Hickory when he veered off just north of Dewey Avenue and drove his gold 2001 Lexus through a fence before crashing into a tree.
Clayton says that the cause of the crash is still under investigation, but that police believe it was medically-related. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other vehicles involved.
This incident makes at least the second crash this week that police are suspecting may be medically-related. On Tuesday, July 13th, a woman nearly had a head-on collision with an officer before crashing into a parked truck.
