The Sapulpa City Council on Monday night changed a city ordinance that allows Raisin the Pig to continue residing in the town. That pleased thousands of fans (mostly on social media) across the land. An ordinance banning miniature pigs as pets in Sapulpa was changed in council action Monday night. Meanwhile, Tulsa’s Fox News and reporter Lynn Casey also was at city hall and filed the following:

“The move comes after a push by more than 119,000 people that supported local pig Raisin Jones’ campaign for miniature pigs as pets.

Jones, a pig of multiple talents, and its owners told FOX23 about their need to change the law and keep Raisin living in Sapulpa.

Monday’s ordinance change means that Raisin can stay with its owners.

It defines miniatures pigs as pigs less than 22 inches high, 32 inches long and 125 pounds. The pigs must be registered with the North American Pot-Bellied Pig Association.

The law says people cannot raise the pigs to eat, and they can only keep one pig older than six months old at a time.
