Little Miss Route 66 Christmas to ride in Chamber Parade of Lights

The Route 66 Little Miss and Mister Christmas Pageant held on December 3rd enjoyed a robust crowd for it’s first year.

Twenty-nine contestants entered the pageant, and according to coordinator Amy Barnes, “over 100 guests attended to watch.”

If you missed your chance to see the cute babies and children in the pageant, you’ll have another opportunity to see at least one of them in the Christmas Parade on Saturday.

Nine-year-old Paislee Thulin was crowned Miss Route 66 Christmas at the conclusion of the pageant. Her mom says it was their first time trying something like that.

The Route 66 Little Miss and Mister Christmas Pageant had nearly thirty contestants and over 100 guests. Winners include Little Mr. Rt 66 Chasyn Kash Morris from Sapulpa, Baby Miss Rt 66 Abby Rutter from Kiefer, Tiny Miss Rt 66 Gracyn Conkling from Sapulpa, and Miss Rt. 66 Paislee Thulin from Sapulpa. “Paislee has always been a shy little girl,” her mother, Jessica Norris, told Sapulpa Times. “I wanted her to see that she is special in her own way.  I started Paislee in cheer; it really brought her out of her shell and gave her some confidence in herself. She then start to have this spunky attitude and just knew she would have fun! I’ve taught Paislee whatever you do in life to do your best! And she went out on that stage and rocked it!”

Morris also said Paislee received a lot of support to help compete.

“She had a whole team there just for her that day,” she said. “Her own pageant coach Kendra Parnell to work with her on the beauty walk and Christmas Routine; her own “glam girl” and special lady to our family Kimberly Wood—a Studio One stylist—for hair and makeup. Without either one of them we would have been lost!”

Paislee herself was nervous, but “excited to see what a pageant was all about.”

You can see Miss Route 66 Christmas in the upcoming Sapulpa Chamber Christmas Parade of Lights on Saturday evening. The parade will start at 6:00 pm and follow the traditional route (map on the left).

Norris says they’re just as excited about the parade, and looking forward to it. “Our car will have a crown, too!”

More parade photos will be Wednesday’s edition of the Sapulpa Herald.
