To the Supreme Commander of the Broken Allied forces located in Oklahoma. Also known as the D.A.V.

It is with a heart of gratitude that I write this letter. After all, that’s what Thanksgiving is all about, graditude! So I say “Thank You” to all those involved! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

 I am a Navy Seabee Veteran that is passing through a rough time right now. Fourteen months ago I broke my back after falling 18 feet. I glad it wasn’t 20, nobody does 20 and gets away with it. I don’t think I could have done 20. But, Hey! I can still laugh and am thankful for that.

I can also hobble to the car but can’t drive, so can’t grocery shop. Having groceries for Thanksgiving was something I was going to do without.

All that changed when my Army and Air Force buddies thought enough to put my name in the Thanksgiving basket. So…

Thank you for keeping this program going.

Thank you for sending such nice people to deliver Thanksgiving dinner, Veronica and Paul Dearman.

Thank you for including all the ingredients and even some nice extra stuff like the yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

And thank you for helping me keep an American tradition alive in my home.

You made me feel loved and remembered.
