Kellyville Town Board swears in members

The Kellyville Board of Trustees swore in recently elected members at the regularly scheduled meeting, Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Board members Russ Howard and Scott Lynn were re-elected, and Robert Kerley was newly elected, unseating Board member Terry Voss.

The positions of Mayor, Vice-Mayor, and Purchasing Agent were voted upon by Board members.

Jim Vogt was elected Mayor, Robert Kerley was elected Vice-Mayor, and Russ Howard was Treasurer and Purchasing Agent.

 In other business, the Board unanimously voted to approve the Consent Agenda consisting of approval of the minutes of the April 11, 2023, Town Meeting, and regular claims in the amount of $47,266.46.

The Board voted to allow a family at 405 East Marley to bring in another mobile home to replace the one destroyed by a fire. The Town Administrator said the family had cleared the land and removed the old mobile home. A gentleman in the audience went before the Board to voice his concerns, but it was unclear what point he was trying to make. Trustee Russ Howard was the lone dissenting vote. 

Town trustees unanimously passed a motion to approve annexing 13464 South 177th West Ave., Kellyville, at the owner’s request.

The Board unanimously voted to approve a resolution to increase the annual fore contract by $10, raising the fee to $85. A motion was then passed declaring the resolution an emergency.

Town trustees unanimously passed a motion to approve hiring a School Resource Officer for the school year 2023-2024.

Town trustees decided not to replace the blown engine in the School Resource Unit, but will look for a replacement vehicle.

The first order of business of the Kellyville Public Works was to swear in Howard, Lynn, and Kerley, who will also serve as Public works Trustees.

The Board unanimously passed a motion to approve the Consent Agenda which consisted of approval of the minutes of the April 11, 2023, meeting, and approving regular claims in the amount of $59,368.54.
