Kellyville Qualifies for State in Powerlifting

On March 2nd and 3rd, the middle and high school powerlifting teams from Kellyville attended the Junior High State Powerlifting Meet and the Northeast Regional Powerlifting Meet at Cleveland High School.

The following won a medal in the junior high meet on Thursday:

Dallas Collins, seventh-grader in the 132 pound division, won 3rd place. His max weights were 180 pounds on squat, 95 pounds on bench, and 220 pounds on deadlift.

Tayver Thornbrugh, eighth-grader in the 145 pound division, won 1st place. His max weights were 265 pounds on squat, 170 pounds on bench, and 280 pounds on deadlift.

Kristian Hammonds, eighth-grader in the 198 pound division, won 1st place. His max weights were 270 pounds on squat, 155 pounds on bench, and 300 pounds on deadlift.

Tyson Manzanares, eighth-grader in the Heavyweight division, won 1st place. His max weights were 405 on squat, 225 on bench, and 405 on deadlift.

Alaina Brothers, ninth-grader in the 123 pound division, won 3rd place. Her max weights were 180 on squat, 95 on bench, and 225 on deadlift.

Finally, Lance Parrick, ninth-grader in the 145 pound division, won 1st place. His max weights were 280 on squat, 170 on bench, and 245 on deadlift.

The following high school lifters were State Qualifiers at the Northeast Regional Meet on Friday, March 3rd, and will attend the High School State Powerlifting Meet next Friday, March 10th, at Prague High School.

10th-grader Mark Marshall received 4th place in the 132 pound division. He will be attending the State meet for his second consecutive year. His max weights were 225 on squat, 140 on bench, and 290 on deadlift.

9th-grader Whit Baker received 2nd place in the 132 pound division. His max weights were 295 on squat, 165 on bench, and 380 on deadlift.

10th-grader Carson Beem received 3rd place in the 220 pound division. He will be attending the State meet for his second consecutive year. His max weights were 405 on squat, 260 on bench, and 500 on deadlift.

10th-grader William Peterson received 3rd place in the 242 pound division. His max weights were 470 on squat, 235 on bench, and 455 on deadlift.

10th-grader Ted Schenk-Cook received 2nd place in the 242 pound division. His max weights were 460 on squat, 320 on bench, and 455 on deadlift.

And finally, 10th-grader Caleb Guinn received 2nd place in the 275 pound division. His max weights were 510 on squat, 280 on bench, and 470 on deadlift.

The next top five lifters in each division overall (in all regions in Oklahoma) can also qualify for State on Friday, and Kellyville has another three lifters who qualified through that:

Matthew Vaughan, an 11th-grader with a total of 970 pounds, qualified in the 168 pound division.

Hayden Hutchins, a 10th-grader with a total of 960 pounds, qualified in the 168 pound division.

And Dylan Yarnell, a 10th-grader with a total of 905 pounds, qualified in the 157 pound division.

Also, Kellyville High School received Class 3A Northeast Regional Runner-Up.
