Jingle Bells Sweepstakes asks the question, “what would you do with $10,000?”

It was a bright, crisp December Saturday, and it was going to get brighter still for the seven people who won one of the prizes at the 2020 Sapulpa Main Street Jingle Bells Sweepstakes.

The largest of these prizes was $10,000 and the most coveted for obvious reasons, but there were still two $500 prizes, and four $1,000 prizes, and those needed winners as well.

KRJH’s Brody Myers was the master of ceremonies for this year’s event—the first for Myers, and he appeared to enjoy himself “I’m having a blast,” he said from the stage.

As has been the case in the past, Sapulpa Times asked everyone who won what they’d do with the money if they won the grand $10,000 prize. But before the big day, we extended that question to our readers who were entering in a drawing to win 750 free tickets from Sapulpa Times.

Tami Dickison said “Our Jingle Bells dream is to redo our shower so that we can get in and out easier. What will probably happen, is pay off bills.”

Melissa Ashley Lorenz said she would use the winnings for my home repairs.

Sheri Ishmael-Waldrop said she’d use the money on behalf of Sapulpa Arts to open a public gallery space for creativity. “Keep creating!” she said.

Laura Ann Elizabeth Woods did a better job of dreaming a bit: “I would try to go to every MLB stadium or buy Taylor Swift concert tickets. Even update the technology around the house. The obvious answer would be to pay off bills & update household appliances.”

Gregory Staires was practical in his desires: “Fix patio that floods when it rains, and take wife on a small trip.” (Author’s note: Staires is the man who plays the character known as the Toy Maker at the Route 66 Christmas Chute. Catch him each weekend!)
