October is officially here and Sapulpa’s events are heading directly into “fall” territory, with seasonal changes brought about by changing colors and (hopefully) cooler temperatures.
This week, Sapulpa’s homecoming is at the top of the list of events, even though parts of it will look a little different.

What’s Changing With The Homecoming Parade
Sapulpa’s homecoming parade has traditionally been a direct route from the west to east, mostly down Dewey Avenue. That direction won’t change, but where it begins will.
According to a map provided by the high school, the parade will begin at the corner of Dewey and Oak, east of most of downtown. Parade floats will be staged on Lee Avenue and will enter Oak from Lee, and then turn onto Dewey from there and continue to Mission, where they will turn north to Hobson and around construction to end at the parking lot behind the high school.

When Will Homecoming Start?
As usual, homecoming festivities start on Friday with a student assembly at 12 p.m. and the processional and coronation at Collins Stadium at 6:30 p.m. See who’s in this year’s homecoming court.
Kickoff against Bartlesville is at 7:00 p.m., and the game will include the Big Blue Band and Alumni Halftime Performance. All of these events will air on Chieftain TV on YouTube.
