Former Holmes Park teacher gets a ten-year sentence, could be reduced

Megan Sloan, the Holmes Park Elementary teacher arrested for bringing heroin to her classroom last May, has been sentenced to ten years.

A judge has stated that she may have her sentenced reduced if she completes a program for women dealing with drug abuse.

Sloan, who formerly taught second-grade at one of Sapulpa’s newest and award-winning elementary schools, was found out through a Facebook conversation she had left open on another teacher’s computer.

After the story broke, evidence also surfaced that the administration was made aware of her substance abuse problems in 2015. Despite being alerted to the problem, administration evidently declined to have her tested.

Sapulpa Times was alerted to this update from a story on KTUL.
