Fire puts Sapulpa’s “Burgers N’ More” restaurant down, but owner says they’re not out

Burgers N’ More, the longtime Sapulpa burger joint located at the corner of Taft Avenue and Hickory, caught fire overnight due to what the owner says was an electrical issue.

  • In brief: The restaurant just came under new ownership earlier this year, and the new owner says it had become “very profitable.”
  • New owner says they will “definitely be coming back.”

“Definitely a bummer.”

“Electrical fire was the Fire Marshal’s preliminary assessment,” said owner Chad Cacy when asked about the cause of the fire. “Definitely a bummer.”

Cacy, who just acquired ownership of the restaurant this year, says, “We will reopen.”

“We had already increased sales significantly since taking over,” he said. “It was doing really well.”

He also said there was no question the restaurant’s days weren’t over, though he wasn’t yet sure how long it would take to get up and running again.

“Timeline is uncertain, but it will definitely be coming back,” he said.

Burgers N’ More has been around since the mid-1980s and became known for their fries and “corn nuggets” as much as their burgers. In 2019, the restaurant was featured on an episode of Fox23’s “Burger Brothers,” where the employee said she cooks about 700lbs of fries a week:

Debris outside the back of the restaurant and smoke damage on the inside are all that remain of the Burgers N’ More restaurant after a fire on late Sunday or early Monday morning shut the restaurant down. The owner says they will “definitely be coming back.”
