Twenty-two-year-old Blake Williamson has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following an update from Sapulpa Police regarding a horrific car accident on Monday, February 27th.
Two people were sent to the hospital after what police believe to be a DUI-related accident at the intersection of 81st street and New Sapulpa Road on Monday night.
Police later updated the Sapulpa Herald that the drivers only suffered minor injuries.
Shortly before 10 p.m., a Chevrolet HHR was sitting at the stoplight at 81st Street, northbound on New Sapulpa Road, when a Chevrolet S-10 pickup slammed into the back of the HHR at full speed, according to officers at the scene.
The force of the impact literally destroyed the back half of the HHR and caused the pickup to overturn.
Sapulpa Police Department Incident Commander Derrick Clayton told the Sapulpa Herald that there was only one occupant in each vehicle and that each driver was being taken to the hospital.
