CREOKS opens Children’s Crisis Stabilization Center

CREOKS Health Services held an open house for their children’s crisis stabilization center in Sapulpa on Monday, January 27th at 27 E. Ross Ave. The state-of-the-art facility has two units, Spring Creek Kids and Hope Lodge.

Both units offer immediate, no-cost short-term care for children and adolescents facing mental health or substance use crises. However, Hope Lodge is unique in Oklahoma, specializing in the treatment of youth with a dual diagnosis of mental health and intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Spring Creek Kids is a crisis stabilization facility offering immediate support for children facing mental health or substance use challenges. The Urgent Recovery Center (URC) provides dedicated recovery for children with three designated areas for ages 5-11 and three for ages 12-17. Following a family-based approach, a parent or caregiver accompanies the child throughout their stay in the URC. Each space is equipped with a recliner and a chair that transforms into a bed for added comfort. The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) offers 14 private beds for children 12-17 with the goal of helping kids return to a pre-crisis level of functioning within 3-5 days.

“We are here 24/7 to provide support to families with children facing crises,” said Michale Stanley, Children’s Crisis Unit Director. “The community can access services by contacting our crisis line at 877-327-3657 or by walking in our doors.”

“CREOKS is committed to improving the mental health of young people and we believe Spring Creek Kids and Hope Lodge will play a vital role in achieving that goal,” said Brent Black, CEO, CREOKS Health Services.

Hope Lodge is a crisis stabilization facility designed to help children 12 to 17 years of age with a dual diagnosis of mental health and intellectual/developmental disability. The Urgent Recovery Center (URC) family-based model offers two recovery chairs for children ages 12-17, who will be accompanied by a parent or caregiver during their stay in the URC.

Like Spring Creek Kids, each space has a recliner and a chair that transforms into a bed for comfort. Hope Lodge Crisis Stabilization Unit offers eight private beds for children 12-17, providing acute psychological and behavioral treatment. “Our treatment team has specialized training to better help children with ID/DD who are in a mental health crisis,” said Mindy Miles, Specialty Children’s Crisis Unit Director. “We ensure each child feels safe with our understanding, patience and unwavering support.”
