Creek County is back to yellow risk zone in the state’s COVID-19 alert map

Editor’s note: This story was updated to show the latest numbers as reported by OSDH.

This week, the Oklahoma State Department of Health says there are 3 additional counties in the “orange” risk zone. Meanwhile, Creek County has fallen back into the yellow zone, sitting at 11.58 cases per 100,000. OSDH continues to monitor closely the statewide hospitalization trends for COVID-19. The COVID-19 Alert map is updated every Friday in the Situation Update.

OSDH says that they’re unable to provide updated COVID-19 numbers at this time due to technical difficulties, so it remains to be seen if Creek County’s status as yellow is temporary.

In a tweet released this morning, OSDH confirms 1,077 more cases, 6 more deaths and 2 fewer on hospitalizations and ICU.

The latest data shows for Creek County currently is showing 721 cases, 19 deaths, and 607 recoveries.

As OSDH continues to meet with stakeholders across the state, the COVID-19 Alert Map is subject to further revisions as science and public health guidance advances with the ongoing pandemic.

Earlier today, OSDH announced a plan to test teachers for COVID-19 on a monthly basis.
