From Creek County Health Department
The Creek County Health Department has been providing the COVID-19 vaccine to the community since December 2020. As of Monday, January 25, 2021, over 300,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given to Oklahomans statewide. The health department continues to work closely with the community to schedule additional clinics based on vaccine supply.
The Creek County Health Department is thankful for partnerships in the community such as the First Christian Church – Sapulpa, Ascension St. Johns – Sapulpa, Central Technology Center – Drumright, First Baptist Church- Mannford and City of Mannford that allow their facilities to be used for large clinic events. In regards to the clinic locations, if you notice that a local church, venue, or site outside of the health department is listed on the Vaccine Scheduler Portal for COVID-19 Vaccine – Please DO NOT CALL the site directly or visit the site to request an appointment. These sites are partnering with Creek County Health Department to allow their facilities to be used for the clinic only, they do not have any ability to schedule or book appointments. Please continue to respect our partners in the community that are generously offering their spaces for large clinic sites for COVID-19 vaccination.
During the large clinics, the COVID-19 vaccination is administered by qualified healthcare professionals. This may include public health nurses from Creek County Health Department, National Guard Medics, or in some cases volunteers that meet healthcare professional criteria will administer and/or monitor patients. If you have questions regarding scheduling, please visit the OSDH Vaccine Scheduler Portal, call 211 or assistance, or your local county health department.
Appointments for COVID-19 vaccine can be made online at vaccinate.oklahoma.gov. The registration portal will serve as a tool to help eligible Oklahomans find more information on when and where to receive the vaccine. We appreciate everyone’s patience and continued efforts to register in the vaccine scheduler portal. As a reminder, as individuals receive their email confirmation stating they are eligible for an appointment, this does not guarantee an appointment slot will be available for that week. Appointment availability is entirely dependent upon vaccine supply. We encourage the community to check back on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings as new appointments will be loaded onto the system for the following week based on local vaccine supply. If you do not have access to a computer or internet, we encourage you to talk to a family member or friend for assistance. If you need further assistance, you may call 2-1-1 for help with the portal. Registering information online will not reserve individuals a spot on any kind of list. At this time, only Phase 1 and some Phase 2 priority groups including Oklahomans who are 65 years of age or older, as well as healthcare workers and first responders will be able to schedule appointments in the system.
If you are included in the priority group and phase eligible to receive the vaccine but are not able to schedule your appointment, you will have additional opportunities as schedules become available. Please use the link provided in your email to browse and schedule available appointments. As our state advances in our phased approach to vaccine distribution, the system will allow for individuals in additional priority groups and phases the opportunity to schedule their appointment once eligible. In upcoming weeks, we hope our pandemic providers such as local healthcare providers, pharmacies, and other partners will be able to provide additional vaccine opportunities in our communities. We appreciate the continued patience as we work to support our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
