Board of County Commissioners: The rezoning request from Willoy Homes, “Green Valley Estates,” recommended for approval last week by the Creek County Planning Commission was unanimously approved at Monday morning’s BOCC meeting. The 5.65 acre tract will be rezoned from an agricultural district to a light residential district to allow a single-family dwelling minor subdivision consisting of four single-family dwellings containing 1 acre more or less. The property is located at 8200 W. 61st St. S. in Tulsa. The Commissioners agreed that “this is going to be good for our county,” and District #2 Commissioner Leon Warner said that “this is a really nice project in that area.”
The final plat for The Bluffs, a single-family dwelling subdivision also recommended for approval by the CCPC last week, consisting of 70.48 acres for 15 lots, 4 of which will remain agricultural, was unanimously approved by the BOCC. The property is located at 5917 Hilton Road in Sapulpa. Warner told the applicant, “This is going to be a good addition to our county; we appreciate all you have done. This is going to be a really nice project.”
The BOCC set a public hearing for December 27, 2021 to consider the removal of S. 353rd W. Avenue from 201st St. to 206th St. S. from the County maintenance system in District #3. Assistant District Attorney Andrew Goforth explained that “this is just on the edge of District #3, a portion of Old HWY 66 & HWY 48 that was returned to the county in March of 1961.” He said that “this is a public easement…about ½ mile in distance starting at 201st, going to 206th, and then connecting at 353rd.” Two property owners will be affected by this closed portion, but there are other access points to their land.
The BOCC approved $113,978 in ARPA funds to purchase two 2022 F150 Crew Cab 4WD Trucks with emergency vehicle upfit and one 2021 Ford Explorer 4WD SUV for the District Attorney’s office.
The BOCC approved Premium Pay of $500 for current employees who worked 38.5 hours a week or more since January, to be issued on December 1, 2021. Goforth said that with 190 active employees, the total amount will be roughly $110-120K, which will come out of ARPA funds.
