The Board of County Commissioners reappointed Gregg Pugmire, District #1, Tyler Buttram, District #2, and Dave Roberts, District #3, as trustees to the Creek County Industrial Authority for five-year terms.
Pugmire, who is a long-time realtor, insurance agent, and downtown property owner, and volunteers for many non-profits, currently serves as the Chair of that body. Pugmire, who has served on the CCIA for nearly three decades, was thanked for his service by BOCC Chair Newt Stephens. “You’ve got a very good, cohesive group that works together and covers the County well,” said Commissioner Leon Warner.
Following the approval of the reappointments, the Board listened to a presentation of investment policy changes approved by the CCIA and the CCHFA (Creek County Housing Finance Authority), specifically the authorities’ policy on 90-day CDs. “In the interest of full disclosure, in the last 90 days we have negotiated some CD rates…and quite successfully, with their cooperation.”
Pugmire informed the Commissioners that both boards had set up a standing committee of trustees, and the Chair would be a member. “Currently we have Zack Dyer from District 1, Tyler Buttram from District 2, and Dave Roberts form District 3, and those have been approved. We also went through about two months reviewing and developing an investment policy and guidelines. In full disclosure, we want you guys to know what we are doing.”
Pugmire then spoke about past CCIA developments such as SeneGence and the Industrial Park near the Town West district.
In other county business, the Board approved a motion to accept a bid for a metal storage building for the Fairgrounds from North Star Fabrications LLC. The bid, which was in a sealed envelope, was discovered unopened when tabulating the bids opened on 3-13-23. Jana Thomas, Purchasing Agent, stated the bid was received by the County Clerk’s Office at 8:41 a.m. and stamped at that time. Chair Newt Stephens said the camera system had been accessed to verify the time and delivery of the bid.
Commissioners passed a motion to allow Southern Justice to use the Courthouse parking lot on Saturday, May 13, 2023, for a “Pay It Forward Scholarship Poker Run.” Sapulpa Police Captain Jim Madden addressed the Board, stating that setup will begin early on the 13th, bikers will arrive at 3:00 p.m. and the Courthouse plaza will be cleaned up by 6:00 p.m. There will be food and live music.
The Board approved allowing Creek County Master Gardeners to use the Courthouse parking lot on Saturday, May 06, 2023, for a plant and yard sale.
Commissioners passed a motion to approve the public sale auction of property located in Harley Fulkerson 2nd addition, Lot 6, Blk 2, in Drumright to the sole bidder, Carl Wallace, for $741.00, plus $100.00 filing and publication, making the total sale price $841.00.
The Board approved a motion to sign a document from the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector’s Office to determine the actual daily cost reimbursement for inmate incarceration for inmates being housed in the Creek County jail by the Department of Corrections
Commissioners approve a motion to sign a resolution establishing priorities for projects for incorporation into the County Improvements for Roads and Bridges (CIRB) Transportation Study.
The Board approved the allocation of the Alcoholic Beverage Tax to be distributed as follows: Bristow $3,177.23; Depew $307.40; Drumright $1,914.71; Kellyville $762.15; Kiefer $1,635.73;
Lawrence Creek $90.50; Mannford $2,439.76; Mounds $697.08; Oilton $661.92;
Sapulpa $16,401.46 and Slick $112.94.
Commissioners approved a utility permit request from Vyve Broadband, per County Specs, extending from 30 days to 60 days for fiber optic line, to cross and parallel
East 740 Rd & 217th West Ave, approximately 1 mile west of 740 Rd & Highway 66.
The Board passed a motion to approve a utility permit request per County specs, from East Central Electric Cooperative for laying fiber-optic cable, to parallel 369th West Ave near West 251st St. South in District #3.
Commissioners approved a utility permit request, per County specs, from Creek County Rural Water District #1 for a water service line, to cross 209th West Ave, approximately .55 miles south of Highway 33 & 209th West Ave.
Board members stated they were appreciative of the efforts put forth by Senator Markwayne Mullin’s office in remediating the problem with SAM.GOV registration site.
