Contract awarded for work on bridge and approaches in Creek County

OKLAHOMA CITY – A contract was awarded for bridge and approach work in Creek County, Sen. Brian Bingman and Rep. Dennis Casey recently announced.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the project will involve bridge and approach work on SH-51 over the Cimarron River about three and a half miles east of the SH-99 junction near Mannford.

Bingman, R-Sapulpa, said the State Transportation Commission awarded the nearly $7.4 million contract to Sherwood Construction Co., Inc. The Tulsa company was the lowest of five bidders for the job, said Casey, R-Wellington.

Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed in about nine months.
