Central Tech participated in the 2023 Oklahoma HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference, formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America. The event was held April 17-19, at the Embassy Suites Conference and Convention Center in Norman, OK.
Central Tech’s Medical Assisting, Health Careers, Biomedical Science Academy, and Advanced Health Careers programs recently participated in a variety of competitive events. These events included a wide range of health-related activities, such as Extemporaneous Writing, Job Seeking, Prepared Speaking, CPR First-Aide, Home Health Aide, Health Career Display, and Biomedical Debate.
Central Tech is pleased to announce that our students showed impressive skills in seven events, with two qualifying for nationals. Sapulpa High School’s Brianna Ramirez earned first place in Medical Terminology (Secondary), while adult student Abbigail Norman came in first in Human Growth & Development (Postsecondary).
Our congratulations go out to them! Central Tech students were recognized with individual and chapter awards, in addition to competition awards. These awards included Silver Star Chapter, Gold Star Chapter, Courtesy Corps, and HOSA Service Project Merit Award.

HOSA is a student-led organization with a global presence and acknowledgement from the U.S. Department of Education, the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as multiple federal and state agencies. Their program offers a one-of-a-kind experience that centers around cultivating leadership skills, encouraging motivation, and providing recognition to those pursuing health sciences education, biomedical science programs, and careers in health professions. This includes secondary, postsecondary, middle school, adult, and collegiate students.
