Sapulpa Public Library

Twenty-seven pairs of shoes are laid out at the Sapulpa Public Library, each pair representing someone who has died on the streets of the Tulsa area as a pedestrian or cyclist in the last two years.

It’s certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Sapulpa Public Library—particularly in one of their display cabinets, where you’ll find a small Christmas village made up of a dozen or so buildings, created by nothing more than paper and glue.

The project is a collaboration between the Parks Department, the Library, and the local TSET program to not only encourage healthy exercise and reading habits, but to make it fun!

In honor of National Poetry Month in April, the Sapulpa Public Library held a poetry contest open to all ages. Read the winners and honorable mentions inside.

The newly opened facility features a photography center, a 3D Printer, a sewing machine, a Cricut suite, a craft center, LEGO play area, button maker, various science experiments, a Dungeons and Dragons Adventure area, and a laminator.

Though new to the position, Haddock is not new to the community, having served with the Sapulpa library for six years, and before that was the library director at Mounds for 8 years.

Stalker, who was with Sapulpa Public Library for 15 years, is regarded as one of the most innovative librarians Sapulpa has had; “The City is lucky to have had such a caring community leader.”
