Submitted – Caring Community Friends found out last week that it had been made a winner of the 2020 Turning Point Community Health Champion award, after a member of the community nominated the organization for the award, according to an email from Direct Camille Teale.
“The Turning Point Community Health Champion Award recognizes the service and dedication of organizations and partnerships that contribute to health improvement and quality of life in their respective communities,” the said in a press release.
Historically, Turning Point Community Health Champion award recipients would be recognized and honored during the council’s annual conference in August. Due to uncertainty with COVID-19, this year’s Turning Point conference will be held virtually.
As part of the recognition, CCF will be filmed for a video that will be shown in the virtual conference.
“How the council recognizes awardees will look different, but the Executive Committee is committed to facilitating a wonderful experience for all awardees that will be just as meaningful,” the statement said.
The Book and Snack Mobile was introduced a year ago as a service to the community through Caring Community Friends.
