The Board of County Commissioners voted to start an executive session to discuss possible action regarding the Deputy County Commissioner that lasted nearly two hours. Upon coming out of executive session, commissioners voted to table any action that resulted from the executive session until a special meeting is held on Thursday, March 10, at 9 a.m.
A separate motion was passed to continue the paid suspension of the Deputy Commissioner until a determination is made at the special meeting.
Commissioners voted to accept a bid for a 3-month bridge and highway materials and professional services and pass for one week until 3-13-23, to award per district. Bids were submitted by Tulsa Asphalt LLC, Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Vance Brothers Inc., Wright Asphalt Products Co., Dunham’s Asphalt Services Inc., Asphalt Fuel & Supply LLC, and Coastal Energy Corporation.
The board passed a motion to sign a resolution removing Receiving Officers George Griffin and Grant Fitchy, and adding Karen Smith and Justin McCleery for the 146th St. South Rural Road Independent District (RRID). This RRID is set up for additional taxes to be applied and collected by the County into the RRID fund with the County. The RRID could not find anyone to write a surety bond unless the County initiates and pays for it. Therefore, District #1 will assume this duty, using officers who are already bonded.
The Board passed a motion to sign a juvenile detention contract with Mayes County for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fiscal year in the amount of $85.00 per day per child.
Commissioners voted to allow the Sheriff’s Office to use the Courthouse Parking Lot on Saturday, May 20, 2023, for the Creek County Law Enforcement Memorial Service. Sheriff Bret Bowling said: “We are going to start about noon, and the goal is to have agencies come out and bring their vehicles and equipment, so folks can come in and talk to all the officers. The service itself will start at 2 p.m.”
The Board passed a motion to approve timetable changes (extending the time allowed from 60 days to 90 days) to the utility permit request from East Central Electric Cooperative for laying fiber optic cable, to parallel and cross 211th West Avenue to Slick Road in District #1.
The Commissioners passed a motion awarding the bid for the West Pump Station Backup Generator for the City of Sapulpa ARPA Project to Crossland Heavy Contractors per recommendations and pending City of Sapulpa approval of award, up to the designated ARPA Fund amount $214,285.71.
The Board passed a motion to transfer seven AED units and AED cabinets purchased with ARPA Funds to Districts #1-1, #2-, and #3, the Courthouse Complex, the Collins Building, the Election Board-1, the Fairgrounds, and the Sheriff’s office.
The BOCC meets every Monday at 9 a.m., at the Collins Building.
