“A New Chapter:” Waypoint Lounge announces they’re closing to the public, transitioning to private events and broadcasting

Waypoint Lounge, the indoor video game lounge and restaurant owned by the Kante Group, has announced that it will close to the public and transition into a venue for private events and a professional production studio.

According to a statement sent to the Sapulpa Times, the lounge will close to the public after the Super Bowl this weekend and will be “reimagined as a professional photo and video production studio and private event venue.”

The Kante Group is calling the move an “evolution” and says that the next chapter “reflects a long-term investment in the creative economy of our city—one that brings more skilled work, more visibility, and more opportunity to the community.”

The next evolution of Waypoint will be “designed to support creative projects, live broadcasts, training events, and high-quality production—all based right here in Sapulpa,” the statement said.

In a Q&A document sent with the press release, the company says the space is “uniquely suited” for high-quality, professional production and events. “This shift allows Waypoint to have a bigger long-term impact—including bringing creative work and jobs to Sapulpa.”

Though it wasn’t explicitly stated, a tour of the SeneGence distribution facility near the Edge District (formerly Town West) earlier this week suggested the facility may also be used for SeneGence production and photography, since the company has completed the move of its headquarters to Sapulpa.

The announcement was a surprise to longtime customers of the video game lounge, which had also become a favorite venue for watching high-profile sports games on the huge wall-sized screen, as well as a great option for luncheons and guest speakers.

The company says it will remain available for private bookings during the transition and that more updates will become available as renovations are completed. Customers with Waypoint gift cards may redeem them at Crossroads Cookery or exchange them for a gift card at the Tee Pee Drive-In.
