Alleged home-invading pickle thieves caught

One of the suspects arrested and jailed following the burglary of Don and Janell Diehl’s Sapulpa home, and theft of their automobile pled not guilty last Thursday.

William Zachery Brown, 23, Depew (and other various addresses), posted $2,000 bond this week (Tuesday) in Tulsa County District Court and was released. Brown is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, and transporting a loaded firearm. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 29 in Tulsa County.

Brown was in the Diehl’s 2012 Kia when apprehended by a Tulsa police officer at a Tulsa motel parking lot at 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 1. The car, believed taken sometime Wednesday before noon, was back in Sapulpa on the Diehl property early Thursday morning, Nov. 2. An electric guitar and other small items taken from the Diehl home were still in the vehicle.

Shantel Marie McQuillen, 33, (various addresses) was taken into custody and jailed in Creek County on Nov. 2. She has been charged with burglary in the second degree and larceny of an automobile. She entered a not guilty plea at her initial arraignment in Creek County District Court on Nov. 14, and is being held with $20,000 bond on each charge. She will appear at a hearing on Nov. 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Creek County.

According to On Demand Court Records, McQuillen has three prior felony convictions.
